About

I am a Senior Freelance Print Designer with over 14 years’ experience in the fashion industry, specialising in beautifully crafted bespoke prints for womenswear, swimwear and sleepwear brands.

Since graduating in 2012 with a degree in Fashion Printed Textiles, I have built a strong and varied career working across leading high-street brands, fashion suppliers and London-based print studios, before establishing my freelance practice.

​

I began my career at River Island, creating prints for swimwear, resortwear, sleepwear and accessories. I then went on to work for a fashion supplier, designing prints for soft accessories produced for a range of high-street retailers. Later, I joined Canvas Print Studio, where my designs were sold to numerous global fashion brands.

In 2018, I founded Amelia Jane Smith Ltd to offer clients bespoke fashion prints that are both commercially successful and visually distinctive. Every design is meticulously researched, thoughtfully developed and delivered to commercial factory printing standards. My approach balances each client’s brief with current and emerging industry trends, resulting in prints that feel relevant, refined and timeless.

My design handwriting is diverse, with experience across men’s, women’s and childrenswear, as well as soft accessories, activewear, swimwear, sleepwear and homeware. I have sold designs to brands worldwide and am known for my love of hand-drawing and painting in a range of mediums. My favourite styles to create include elegant florals, decorative paisleys and playful conversational prints.

Passionate about collaboration, I enjoy working closely with brands to bring their creative vision to life through considered, high-quality print design.
